Goulburn Argyle
Garden Club
About Us
The Goulburn Argyle Garden Club is part of a nation-wide network under the auspices of the Garden Clubs Australia Inc. Our members are from Goulburn city and its surrounds.
It held its first meeting on 22 May 1984 and Audrey Granger was our charter member. Audrey still attends club meetings. The club will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2024. The name Argyle is historical from when the club was called the Argyle Garden Club after the Argyle parish which we are in.
We have monthly meetings - meet new friends, get information about gardening, and often we have a guest speaker. The Club is in recess over the months of December & January, and some meetings are by way of excursions (see the latest newsletter or club events for details on the club information page). At each meeting we have a plant trading table, a flower of the month competition and run a raffle for a small plant prize. Visitors and potential new members are always welcome to attend our meetings.
Membership fees are a joining fee of $15 - a once only payment which includes the cost of a personal badge and an annual fee of $20 for electronic newsletter delivery or $25 for printed delivery - payable in May each year and it includes trip and event insurance and the quarterly local newsletter.
The club usually meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 10:00 am at the Goulburn Soldier's Club on the corner of Market & Sloane Streets Goulburn, opposite historic Belmore Park.
